About my knives

Styles

I make several styles of knives: utility knives in several sizes, kitchen knives, both Eastern and Western,  carry knives, knives for defense and martial arts and more, depending on what I am asked. One of the things I like the most is to develop knives in partnership with my customers, as it allows for the maximun in terms of  personalzation.

Materials

Usually, I prefer to use carbon steel like 5160, 1070, 15n20 and  52100, besides damascus steel, and natural materials for the andles, but I am not too radical on my views about it. Recently, I have used a lot of g-10, a synthetic laminate that is surprisingly strong and confortable to hold.

For the next year my goal is to start making slipjoint folders – let´s see if they will work!

Finish

I usually give the piece the finish that is more adequate to to the customer´s expectations. Some people wll be happy with a simple finish with 220 grit belt as they will put their knives to a hard constant use while other will prefer a hand rubbed finish, wich is finer and looks better, but is more time cosuming and more expensive.

Signature

Now all my knives are signed and dated but you usually don´t see it in the pics as I have them engraved with my signature when they are sold, after the picures have been taken.

Prices

My knives go from around US$ 50.00 (for a simple all-steel neck knife, for instance) to as much as the customer wants to sofisticate it. It is hard to give a precise qoute without discussing the project but looking at the knives on this site you can have an idea, or just ask me.

Delivery Time

30-45 days is my usual delivery time but a firm delivery date is set by the time of the order.

Quotes

If you would like to have a knife quotation – either an exclusive project or one of my designs, just call me at 55-15-97120993 or write to ivan@ivancampos.net . It is free and there is no compromise from your part until you place your order.

Warranty

My knives have a full warranty against craftsmanship defects for as long as I am working on knifemaking – it is that simple.
